Accommodation
We provide luxurious and comfortable yurts and cosy, traditional bell
tents sleeping up to 5 people.
Yurts are traditional dwellings in many parts of the world, and are larger
and sturdier than camping tents. They offer full headroom and a and a
12ft or 16ft diameter and are beautifully furnished with proper beds (some
with 4 posters), tables, chairs and all the equipment you would expect
in a holiday cottage. The yurts have solid floors and the bell tents sturdy
groundsheets, each with rugs and mats for comfort. Our bedding and linen
is all in natural materials. Each yurt and bell tent has a small wood
burning stove for warmth.
Breakfast, if required, is available every morning at the bazaar tent,
or delivered to your accomodation and tea and coffee are always available.
There is a communal outdoor cooking area with barbeque and wood burning
brazier with local wood from sustainable woodland. There are loungers
and deckchairs for unwinding in the sun after a hard day on the beach
or exploring the beautiful Isle of Wight.
We have solar power available and provide beautiful, locally made candles
and lanterns, solar lighting and low energy LeD lamps. Mobiles may be
recharged by solar means.
The site provides compost toilets, a shower cubicle heated by dual solar
and woodburning stove! At the Orchard, situated
in an area of outstanding natural beauty, there is a farm shop specialising
in organic local produce and a licensed cafe serving delicious home cooked
meals and snacks, a take away service is also available. The location
is near footpaths and bridleways providing wonderful walks for example
cliff walks to the Needles
via Tennyson Down, to Yarmouth along the river bank and Freshwater Bay
through the beautiful Afton marshes. It is within walking distance of
2 celebrated pubs (The
Red Lion and The
Sandpipers Hotel) and there are bus stops nearby.
For washing we have traditional washstands with large bowls and jugs,
and an area with large tubs for washing up. We provide complimentary,
largely local, environmentally friendly washing products for guests use.
About our Yurts and Bell tents
All
our accommodation is equipped and furnished to the highest standard with
everything that you will need for your holiday. Each yurt and bell tent
has tea and coffee making facilities and a selection of cutlery and crockery.
There is a central cooking and leisure tent available for guests use with
both Calor and wood fired cookers. Pillows, duvets and organic cotton
bed linen are provided. We provide complimentary environmentally friendly
washing and cleaning products for you to use during your holiday. All
our yurts have wooden floors and solid doors, our bell tents have a ground
sheet decorated with cosy rugs. All have woodburning stoves for warmth.
All wood is provided and included in the cost of your stay.

RUSTIC YURT – SLEEPS 2-3
This 12ft yurt is furnished in an ethnic country style with pine furniture, lanterns, rugs, floor cushions and a comfortable sofa bed. A low fold away bed is available for a child or extra adult. There is a woodburning stove for warmth. Book online

This 16ft yurt is particularly light and airy with a window and a clear crown cover so that you can lie in bed and watch the stars! There is a pine 4 poster bed, a comfortable sofa bed, a single fold away bed, wardrobe, light furniture and sunshine drapes and colours throughout. Book online
ETHNIC FAMILY BELL TENT – SLEEPS 5
This is a 16ft bell tent furnished with 2 comfortable double futons and a single camp bed. There is low, ethnic furniture, tapestry cushions, throws and rugs. Book online
ROMANTIC COUPLES’ BELL TENT- SLEEPS 2
This beautiful 16ft bell tent is furnished only for 2 with a large low bed, covered in speepskin throws and cushions, soft drapes and candles. There is simple furniture and a woodburning stove and the whole setting has a very romantic mood. Book online
