Delicious, Healthy Food

Our ethos of low impact on the planet and high quality is especially evident in our approach to food throughout the holidays. We encourage guests not to use Supermarkets where much of the food comes packaged in non biodegradable materials and has been transported long distances by air, sea and road. These deliveries can generate high carbon emissions and often support high profits for for western businesses taking advantage of low wages in third world countries.

We arrange a welcome pack on arrival of Fairtrade tea and coffee, Isle of Wight milk and butter, local honey and bread, the very best local dry cured bacon and eggs. Breakfast is available daily as an optional extra with delicious fresh baked breads, croissants and rolls, with local eggs and bacon, freshly brewed Fairtrade tea and coffee, and local jams and honey.

In addition to the produce available from the farm shop on site excellent local produce is available from a range of suppliers nearby. These include Godshill Organics, Brownrigg Poultry, Calbourne Mill, Wight Blue Cheeses, locally made prize winning sausages from PJ Thorne Butchers, Orchards General Stores, Angela’s Delicatessen, Four Winds Farm Shop, Calbourne Ice Cream, Dunsbury Farm Lamb, Hamilton Fine Foods, The Garlic Farm, Minghella Ice Creams and the Isle of Wight Farmers Market amongst others.

Locally caught fish is available straight from the boats at Yarmouth, Freshwater Bay and Ventnor Fisheries. Each Yurt will have a selection of pots and planters containing fresh herbs and flowers, such as nasturtiums and marigolds, which may be used in salads and cooking.
